The Contorer Foundation is a proud co-founder of Equinox Center, an independent research center focused on economically sound environmental sustainability for the San Diego region, now a part of The Environment Initiatives Hub within the The Non Profit Institute at University of San Diego.

Circulate San Diego is a regional grassroots organization formed through the merger of Move San Diego and WalkSanDiego, San Diego County's leading organizations dedicated to advancing mobility and making the region a better place to live, work, learn, and play. Our work focuses on creating great mobility choices, more walkable and bikeable neighborhoods, and land uses that promote sustainable growth.
COMPASSION AND HUMANITY
We have met the enemy and he is us... and so is the solution. In today's society, progress happens fast. Evolution happens very slowly.
A modern, evolved society, no longer needs to rely on the DNA of our ancestors to protect us from the environment or viscous animals or conquering neighbors. Today we have security and intellect. So we need advanced programs for education, compassion, conflict resolution and empathy will help us to fight our outdated instincts and bring us to our best selves: humanity driving behavior for a modern, intellectual world of peace.
WEALTH STUDIES
As prosperity grows throughout the nation and the world, people follow a path created by the wealthy.
North America is home to more than 10 million millionaries, and that number is growing fast. What used to be an impossibly elite status is now almost commonplace. With the growth of wealth, ordinary professionals and businesspeople have to ask themselves: "what will I do if I get rich?"
Are riches a good thing -- for the rich, and for the world? Can real people, grown wealthy, find fulfillment and use their riches wisely? How?
Our first step is to understand today's wealthy people. Not how they got their money, but what life is like once the riches come. What makes these people tick? Why do they make the decisions they do?
What does their behavior today foreshadow for our own lives and for our world tomorrow, when wealth is commonplace?
We hope, especially, to learn about the forces that make some wealthy people turn not into super-consumers, but into super-producers -- people who use wealth as a tool to create meaningful lives and give back to society.
